Caring for Those in Need

JLF Men’s Breakfast Volunteer

On the first Saturday morning of the month the Jesse Lee Farrer Men’s Breakfast meets. When HMC hosts the breakfast we need a team of men ready to come and help prepare and serve the meal. This includes cooking, setting up, and cleaning.

Contact Pastor JB if you’re interested in volunteering.

Wednesday Workers

Each Wednesday from 9 am-2:30 pm the members of Wednesday Workers meet for a time of fellowship, food, quilting, and crafting. Items that are completed are offered for sale at the Fall Market for the public, which is held on the first Saturday in November. The proceeds are used for various church and community projects or needs. Everyone is welcome!

If you are interested in Wednesday Workers please contact Kathy Smith for more information.

Howe Methodist Women

Howe Methodist Women is a group of ladies within the church who meet once a month but are in constant action and always searching for new programs, charities, and outreach opportunities for the church to be a part of. They are the organizers of our annual Fall Market, Christmas Bulldog Tree which provides toys for children within Howe ISD, and many other opportunities for service.

If you are interested in HMW please contact Judy Ragsdill for more information.

Sunday Morning Service Opportunities

At HMC we want to make sure everyone who comes through our doors feels more than just welcome, we want them to feel cherished. We would love to have you on our Greeter team.

Greeters are organized into teams at each entrance and we welcome individuals, couples, and whole families alike to serve in these crucial roles. All you need to do is be available 20 minutes before the start of service at 10am.

If you would like to serve on the Greeter Team please contact Pastor JB for more information.

Nursery/Children’s Volunteer

We are growing at HMC! This means new families with babies, toddlers, and elementary age kids. We want to make sure that we are equipped to serve them as best we can and provide a safe and nurturing environment. This can mean serving in the nursery with babies and infants, serving with the Children’s Ministry and helping walk the kids through Children’s Church which happens during the 10am service, or volunteering with our Family Night on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month and teaching the elementary kids, (K4J), their Bible lesson.

If you would like more information on Serving in any of these roles please reach out to our Children’s Director, Summer DeLavan, or Pastor JB

HMC Youth Volunteer

7th-12 grade is a crucial time in life and we want to equip our kids with a strong faith and a confidence that comes from realizing how loved they are by their church and by a God who claims them. Our Youth Group meets every Wednesday at 6pm, shares a meal together, and unique programing that includes Bible studies, community outreach projects, and special guest speakers. You don’t have to be a Bible or theology expert! You have something to offer these young men and women and we would love to have you come and share your knowledge and experience.

If you would like any more information on volunteering with the HMC Youth please get in touch with John Evans or Pastor JB.

Scripture Reading & Communion Service

We are all called to be ministers and at HMC we want to equip and empower each person to serve that purpose. We offer those within our church the opportunity to serve their church the Holy Sacrament of Communion, the bread and juice. This is a special moment of service and we want to encourage everyone to experience it.

We also want to involve our church family in the reading of the scripture each Sunday. While this can be intimidating at first to speak in front of the church, Pastor JB is ready to work with and guide anyone in the reading. Everyone is welcome to serve in these ways and we encourage you to consider the opportunity and reach out to Pastor JB if you have any interest or questions.

Maintenance and Landscaping Volunteer

It takes a lot to keep the church building and grounds presentable. Do you have a knack for DIY projects or are you gifted with fixing things that break? Maybe you’re blessed with a green-thumb and an eye for landscaping. We need you as one of our volunteers who will work side-by-side with the Trustees to take on the fixes, mends, and upkeep of the church. Whether you can build a house or change a lightbulb, install a sprinkler system or start a lawnmower, we could use your help!

If you would like any further information on serving as a volunteer please contact Marvin Smith or Pastor JB

Hospitality Team

We are always looking for ways to engage with our church family and the community around us. Do you have a knack for coming up with fun events for families, are you a natural host who enjoys brainstorming ways to welcome people and make them feel cherished, as well as having some fun? Then you belong on the HMC Hospitality Team!

We meet periodically throughout the year and welcome anyone to come join us and bring their ideas. No registration or sign-up is required.

Email Pastor JB if you wish to be signed up for our weekly newsletter or follow our Facebook page to stay in the loop regarding when the next meeting will be.
